Concept of an ice cloud microphysics module of intermediate complexity for application in numerical weather prediction

This report sets out a new way of representing ice clouds inside weather prediction models. It is detailed enough to capture the physics that governs contrail formation, yet simple enough to run within the time constraints of operational forecasting.
